Berck-sur-Mer Kite Festival 2013

Every year on the long, wide, beach of fine white sand of Berck-sur-Mer, France hundreds of kite fliers gather for one of the world’s most famous Kite Festivals. This year we were lucky enough to be part of this 10 day long kite carnival in the sky.

Originally famous for Aerial Photography, the festival soon became popular with kite fliers of every type.  In recent years the festival has become the go to event for Revolution kiters from across the world to meet, talk and fly together.  The Rev Mega Team is always a highlight of the event and this year was no exception.  Fortunately for us, Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) is back with a vengeance so there are some spectacular photos of the festival.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Gerard Clement and the organisers of this amazing festival.  The Berck-sur-Mer team effortlessly deal with all the needs of kite fliers from all over the world at the same time as handling crowds well in excess 400,000 people.  Add to that one of the biggest firework displays you ever seen and you have an event of pure magic.

If you are planning kite festival trips for next year, Berck-sur-Mer should be on your shortlist.
